On August 6th and 7th, 58 Baker Intermediate 6th grade students received training to become WEB Leaders for the 2018-2019 school year.
WEB, which stands for “Where Everybody Belongs”, is an intermediate school orientation and transition program that welcomes 5th graders and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their intermediate school experience. Built on the belief that students can help students succeed, the program trains student mentors from the 6th grade class to be WEB Leaders. As positive role models, WEB Leaders are mentors and student leaders who guide the 5th graders to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to Baker Intermediate School. These WEB Leaders will meet with 5th grade students throughout their first year at BIS to offer guidance and support.
The WEB Program is entering its eighth year of implementation in Clark County Public Schools (fifth year at BIS) and is coordinated by BIS teachers Renee Ware and Amanda Clark.
It’s going to be a great year to be a Baker Bulldog! #BISWhereEverybodyBelongs #BelieveInspireSucceed
