Clark County Public Schools would like to announce that Ruthann Ray Sharrock has been selected as the new Principal at Strode Station Elementary School.
Mrs. Sharrock has 24 years of service with the Clark County School System. Her teaching experience includes six years of Language Arts and Math at Conkwright Middle School and 15 years in the math department at George Rogers Clark High School, where she also taught Photojournalism. Along with her classroom experience, she has served in numerous leadership roles, including the Math department Lead and 15 years as an advisor for all senior events/activities at GRC. She served one year as an assistant principal at George Rogers Clark High School and the last two years as assistant principal at Strode Station Elementary.
Mrs. Sharrock received her Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with majors in both Language Arts and Mathematics, grades 5-12, from Bluefield State College. She continued her education at Marshall University and finished her Masters of Art in Elementary Education in 2002 from Eastern Kentucky University. She received her Rank 1 and Instructional Leadership Certification K-12 from Eastern Kentucky University in 2008.
Mrs. Sharrock and her family are originally from Bluefield, Virginia. She and her husband Don have three sons - Chris, Todd, and Luke (all GRC graduates) - and two grandchildren, Raylee and Drayke. She is so thankful for all their support and for the support of her parents, Ira Scott and Shelva Ray.
Mrs. Sharrock is excited to continue serving the community in which she lives and is grateful to have the opportunity to have worked at all levels within the Clark County School system. She is extremely excited to continue her work at Strode Station!
