Recently, GRC's STLP students designed and taught lessons to two classes at Shearer Elementary School regarding the benefits of reusing our resources and respecting our environment. Art and construction projects helped Mrs. Campbell’s 2nd grade class and Mrs. Turley’s 3rd grade class understand ways that students can support their community and recycle.

This collaborative work is one component of the group’s State STLP project, "Renew Clark County".

GRC's STLP Club is also collecting #5 plastic bottle caps with hopes of building a bench from the recycled materials like the one at Shearer. They are collecting these caps at some local businesses and throughout the building at the high school as part of this effort. The club believes "The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it!"  So, everyone is asked to support this club by collecting and donating bottle caps, please!
